The Best Turkish Resorts in 2010

- Altinkum. Altinkum is one of those Turkish resorts that caters for everyone. The beachfront will be perfect for those who want to top up their tans. If you translate Altinkum, it stands for golden sands and it is easy to see why. Holiday makers seeking historical sites can visit Apollon Temple, Miletos and Priene. There are restaurants to cater for everyone taste buds. Nightlife ranges from nightclubs for the teenagers or family bars for holiday makers with young children. The resort has a variety of hotels and self catering apartments that are available to book through the internet.

- Kusadasi. This resort is a combination of cosmopolitan and traditional. If you visit Kusadasi,? be sure to head to the nearby historical site of Ephesus. Ephesus in it's prime was the second largest city in the Roman Empire. Close by to Ephesus is the Virgin Mary's house, where you can head to pray and worship. If you are looking for thrills,? Kusadasi has two large water parks where you can top up your tan or even go swimming with the dolphins.

- Istanbul. Technically Istanbul is not a Turkish resort but a large city. However no visit to Turkey is complete with out visiting this ancient and bustling city.? Holiday makers who want to see the sights will have a field day with the Topkapi palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand bazaar and numerous museums. Some of the best hotels in Turkey are found in Istanbul, and luxury is perfected to a tee. Tourists will find the area of Sultan Ahmet is a close distance to all the sights. Night time entertainment is perfected with a Turkish Evening in the Galata Tower.

- Cappadocia. This Turkish resort is not for beach lovers but those who want to experience something unique. Book a hotel built into the caves and wake up early in the morning to take a hot air balloon trip over fairy chimneys. Goreme which is a small town near Cappadocia is a great place to holiday and perfect for trekking, hiking and relaxing.

- Last but not least is the Turkish resort of Alanya on the Mediterranean coast. Take a jeep safari out into the wild or visit the famous historical castle. Alanya has a host of hotels and self catering apartments for you to stay in. Shoppers will also be delighted with the wide range of Turkish and international shops staying open all hours.
